Ecuador bounced back from defeat in their opener against Switzerland to secure a 2-1 win over Honduras.

The Hondurans took the lead on 31 minutes when Ecuador failed to deal with a long ball, allowing Carlo Costly to smash home and in turn end a goal drought that had lasted 510 minutes — the nation's last goal came in their second match of the 1982 tournament in a 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland.

Ecuador equalised just three minutes later, Enner Valencia arriving at the back post to tuck the ball home after Juan Paredes' low drive found its way through the Honduran backline.

And their comeback was complete in the 65th minute when Enner Valencia clinically headed past goalkeeper Noel Valladares from Walter Ayovi's free kick, making it three goals at this summer's tournament for the striker.
