He chef, cook her wife! Big love, as weight! But before you go to the altar, the two have thought it would be good to take off a few pounds. They succeeded, and the transformation is incredible.
Matt Bradley, 23, a chef from Warwickshire, England, asked his girlfriend Hannah to marry him. Hannah accepted, and the couple began to dream of their life together. When they visualized their future, Matt and Hannah realized that part of the picture included the two of them being fit and healthy. At the time, Matt weighed 258, and Hannah was overweight as well.
This bride and groom stunned their guests with their wedding makeover – after losing an astonishing 10 stone between them before their big day.
Childhood sweethearts Matt and Hannah Bradley ditched the junk and dropped an incredible 140lbs as their nuptials approached.
Obese Matt, from Leamington Spa, had ballooned to 18 stone as he picked at food all day during his job as a chef.
But after his proposal to girlfriend Hannah, the 23-year-old plucked up the courage to join Slimming World with his fiancée, and the couple did not look back.
“My confidence had taken a real nosedive and I was very self-conscious about my size” said Matt.
“I had to buy XXL clothes online and I hated seeing photographs of myself – there’s a picture of me at another wedding and I swear I’ve got three chins.
“Around 18 months ago, Hannah and I started planning our own wedding and decided it was time for us both to lose weight.
“Hannah suggested we join Slimming World and to say I wasn’t looking forward to it is an understatement.
"I thought it was somewhere only women went– no place for a young bloke like me!”
But after visiting their local Warwickshire group, Matt was converted and has dropped from 17 stone 12lbs to 11 stone 5lbs, while Hannah dropped an impressive 3 stone 7lbs for their big day at Ardencote Manor Hotel, in Warwick.
The couple overhauled their diets, cooking healthy meals and joined the gym to lose the weight.
“Discovering I was clinically obese was a proper wake-up call, so I was delighted when I lost 6lbs in the first week,” said Matt.
“The biggest boost came when I went to see my GP a couple of months ago.
"When I walked in, he glanced from me to his computer screen and said, ‘Sorry – I think I’ve got the wrong person. It says here you’re nearly 18st’.
“He was really impressed by my weight loss and agreed that I could stop using my asthma inhalers.”
Hannah added: “Even though we’ve always been very happy with each other, we weren’t happy with ourselves.
“Now we both have so much more energy and confidence. We’re excited about starting our married life together.”
