Ever since Facebook acquired WhatsApp, there were rumors that Facebook is going to bring about a lot of unwanted changes.
However, it was not so. Facebook kept to its promise of keeping WhatsApp a separate unit from Facebook. The promise by WhatsApp founders that this app will continue to operate as an advertisement free application, stayed true and the users did not have any complaints.
Free Voice Calls
This is not yet a part of WhatsApp; however, as per the rumors that are circulating in the market, it is likely that very soon WhatsApp too is going to offer you the feature of making free voice calls. You can already find apps that offer you similar features. Top social mobile apps like Line and Viber also have the feature of voice calls. The calls are made over Wi-Fi or your mobile network. You will need reliable and strong data connection to make these calls.
If media reports has to be believed, internet based mobile messaging service WhatsApp is set to launch a free voice calling feature for its 600 million active users.
Recent changes in the interface of the app suggest that the feature is coming soon.
As a lot of users have international contacts, it will be easier for people to talk to their friends and acquaintances, without burning their money. There is no firm news, as such, on when the feature will be incorporated. It is expected that WhatsApp team will come up with more news on this front in the days to come. Despite the absence of the calling feature, WhatsApp has consistently remained the top social mobile app. However, if this feature is introduced; it is likely that none of the other apps will be able to measure up to the popularity of WhatsApp.
"The leaked images of the upcoming user interface shows that the app has been enabled with other language translations which will be displayed at the time a person receives a call via WhatsApp," a report on thefusejoplin.com stated.
The translation feature available in the latest version of WhatsApp has made it clear that the voice calling plug-in is on its way.
While the voice calling feature is all set to be released on WhatsApp, there is no update if there is going to be a similar feature on Facebook, it added.
