Vodafone India has launched its new campaign for the Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 8, highlighting the network’s 3G data network capabilities. Six films from the campaign have already been released, while few more films are scheduled to be aired as the tournament progresses.
Vodafone India has rolled out two more TVCs as part of its 'Speed is good' campaign. The films are a follow up to the ‘Farewell’, ‘Haircut’, ‘Birthday’ and ‘Baby’ spots released in early March.
Conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather, these films went on air on 18 April.
1. Vodafone New Neighbours HD Ad 2015

2. Vodafone Bruise HD Ad 2015

One of the films (above) titled ‘Bruise’ tells the story of a young boy and girl. The girl is woken up by a picture on her phone of her friend, who has bruised his hand playing football. She sends him a picture of a kiss to ease his pain. The opportunist applies a band-aid on his cheek, hoping to get another kiss. Seeing through this, the girl smirks. The scene cuts back to the boy, who’s shocked to see the girl and two of her friends mimicking his ‘injury’ with band-aids. A super informs viewers that they can share videos 43 per cent faster with Vodafone’s network.
3. Vodafone Haircut HD Ad 2015

This screenplay style has been adapted from Charlie Chaplin movies. If you can see, it focuses on close up reactions, 1x speed increase, SFX mute with only music. This completely makes the ad one step ahead of all other ad and narrates a story much better. Brilliant work!
4. Vodafone Dance HD Ad 2015

The other film is set in a restaurant which is about to close. A young man looks at his companion and downloads a song. As it begins to play, she asks him to dance with her. They break out into a tango routine. A super informs viewers that they can download music 22 per cent faster using Vodafone’s network.
5. Vodafone Farewell HD Ad 2015

6. Vodafone Baby – HD Ad 2015

The ‘Baby’ spot is about how a crying baby is pacified by a teenage boy with the help of faster video downloads on Vodafone.
Ronita Mitra, senior vice president, brand communication and insights, Vodafone India, said,
“Vodafone has launched the ‘Speed is good’ campaign this T20 season with an endeavour to strengthen Vodafone’s fastest 3G network credentials. The new TVCs bring alive memorable nuggets from daily life that brings a smile to someone’s face due the speed of data network.”
Rajiv Rao, national creative director, Ogilvy India, said,
“The two new films reinforcing the 'Speed is good' message are part of the Vodafone data network campaign. Both films demonstrate the speed of a faster network and the joy it can bring to our daily lives. The stories are kept simple so as to allow everyone to identify with the stories, and in this way driving the relevance of the message more effectively.”
During the matches, Vodafone will kick off a series of on-ground and online engagement campaigns for the fans to amplify speed. The Vodafone Speed Quiz will leverage the cricket fever and offer a money-can’t-buy experience for the fastest correct answer. The winner with the fastest correct answer of the Vodafone Speed Quiz goes on to become Vodafone SuperFan, while the remaining 20 winners will join the Vodafone Fan Army. In addition, there will be Vodafone Speed Zones to host interactive activities around the core concept of ‘Speed’ to engage in-stadia crowd. Vodafone is also closely working with concerned authorities to create engaging opportunities for the fans at the identified Fan Parks across the country.
